MARRUNGBANGA RESERVE

Public BBQ

This scenic reserve serves as a gateway to Tomaree National Park's historic gun emplacement walks, though weekend crowds and a popular coffee van can make parking competitive on Saturday mornings. Wildlife enthusiasts will appreciate the abundant native species that call this coastal haven home. The reserve offers convenient facilities including spacious toilets, while clearly marked walking tracks provide easy access to the area's wartime heritage sites. Visitors often pair this location with the nearby Mount Tomaree summit trek, creating a full day of exploration. Despite potential parking challenges during peak summer periods, the reserve's natural beauty and strategic location make it a worthwhile stop for anyone touring the Nelson Bay region.
